Our trip to Florida

Early in February Linda and I took our first long flight of the year, down to St Petersburg Fl to see Barbara (last year's team mate) and Russell. The plane performed well, except for a vacuum pump failure in night IMC (!!!) on the way down; and a popped alternator circuit breaker on the way back. Oh boy. One of these days we'll have worked all the bugs out... But it was a lovely trip, and we got in a lot of flying time and a little sun too!

We're number 5! The numbers were drawn today at Women in Aviation. Our fellow Eastern PA 99s teams are: Mary Wunder and Elaine Huf - 15; Barbara Zeigler and Ethel Bailey - 25. Not sure about the significance of all those multiples of 5, but I think its a good omen for our Chapter! Our friend Camelia Smith is 2; Minnetta Gardinier has 6; last year's baby bird Nicole Lordemann has 8; Carolyn van Newkirk has 20; Charissa Dyer-Kendler has 30. All 55 spots are taken. It's going to be soooo cool to see all our friends again!
